Change Has Come?

There is no permanent thing in this world except change" this famous adage goes for years for the fact that people believe everything changes
If that is the case, is every little thing in this planet alter? Well, it might be arguable still.

Politicians especially during elections always promise "change" in the country. Changing the education, the justice system, and even the undying traffic in the metro. In short, everything under the sun a politician can promise he will.

However, Filipinos particularly the poor ones are victim of the promises.
Each vote is important for the candidates. On the other hand, each exercise of right to vote is another hope for a better living and better nation.

The past administrations in the Philippines gives us different strategies and tactics on how the leaders lead his country. However, one thing is common and undeniable, the never-ending issue of corruption and conspiracy.

 The past two administrations of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and the recent exit in presidential position of Benigno Noynoy Aquino III,  has both controversial issues. The first one was involved in plunder (PCSO misuse of money), the "I Am Sorry" wherein she was alleged to deceit the national elections by talking over the phone with Comelec Chair Virgilio Garcillano, and the other cases filed against the now congress woman Arroyo. In line with this, the latter was also part of the tragic Mamasapano massacre, DAP-PDAF issues and others too.

Now, the Philippine face a new leadership, a far different from the previous ones.
The Duterte regime has finally come.
Strict, intense, vulgar, promising. These words to describe the start of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the former mayor of Davao for a long time. As Duterte formally acknowledge as the 16th President of the Philippines, last June 30 his priorities the removal of drugs in the country specifically the drug lords, pushers and users.

News Front page and headlines depicts the way of president Duterte's ruling. Many drug users and pushers were arrested but most of them got killed. On the brighter side, pushers and users surrendered themselves in fear of getting killed.

According to Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism's Facebook account, the previous operation from May10-July 11 in "Oplan Tokhang" there are 192 persons killed and 8,110 persons arrested;

The massive campaign regarding drugs gives so much hope to the public. This is because many crimes were done under the influenced of drugs.

Besides, drugs other platform of president Duterte are no to contractualization,
Exempting the poor Filipinos  from tax, creating and doubling the salaries of teachers and other economical issues as well.

Change also applies to the president's other concerns, like the recent memorandum in which the title "His Excellency" will not be label whenever he will attend gatherings or be acknowledge. He did not also want luxurious feast for his victory. When there will be gatherings he just wanted to have the simplest menu and productions. What he eats in his house, that will be served also in MalacanaƱang.

 Six years of journey as a president is a long way ahead. People can never tell what will happen tomorrow. Change may be seen now, but the question is till when? Is the good leadership will be maintained? The Filipinos are watching, waiting, especially those in the midst of poverty. Every one hope to have changed in a better country, a better Philippines.
